Songam Sportstown Airdome Chuncheon, Gangwon State, South Korea — ROKCTV 대한민국문화뉴스TV방송, chaired by Kim Jeong-Rok, has launched a joint reporting team to provide timely and accurate coverage of the Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships for audiences in Korea and around the world.
The ROKCTV reporting team began its full-scale coverage on September 15 by attending the official media briefing held at 10:30 a.m. in the briefing room of the Songam Sports Town Air Dome in Chuncheon, Gangwon State.
The team subsequently covered the groundbreaking ceremony for the World Taekwondo (WT) Headquarters at 4:30 p.m., followed by the opening ceremony of the championships at the Air Dome at 5:30 p.m.
Four-Member Joint Reporting Team Led by Kim Jeong-Rok
ROKCTV formed a four-member team of domestic and international reporters to provide systematic coverage of the competition results, major events and developments from the venue.
The joint reporting team consists of:
• Kim Jeong-Rok, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief;
• Kim Gyeong Up, Head of News Operations and Senior Reporter;
• Kim Joey, Reporter for the International News Department; and
• Velda Vania, Indonesia Correspondent for the International News Department.
Beginning with the official briefing and major events on September 15, the team will continue reporting from the competition venue through the final day of the championships on September 20.

Coverage Begins with Official Briefing, WT Headquarters Groundbreaking and Opening Ceremony
At the official media briefing on September 15, organizers outlined preparations for the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, competition operations and plans for the construction of the new WT Headquarters.
Later that day, a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction of the WT Headquarters was held at Songam Sports Town.
The opening ceremony followed at the Air Dome, officially ushering in five days of world-class poomsae competition among national delegations from around the globe.
The main competition runs from September 16 to 20 at the Songam Sports Town Air Dome in Chuncheon, Gangwon State.
A total of 2,269 delegation members representing 85 countries are participating in 42 competitive categories—34 in Recognized Poomsae and eight in Freestyle Poomsae.
The championships are classified as a G8 event, the highest grade under the World Taekwondo Poomsae Ranking Bylaws.

World Titles Contested in 34 Recognized and Eight Freestyle Poomsae Categories
Recognized Poomsae competition comprises men’s and women’s individual events, men’s and women’s team events, and mixed-pair events. Each team consists of three athletes, while each mixed pair consists of one male and one female athlete.
Freestyle Poomsae includes men’s and women’s individual events, mixed-pair events and mixed-team events. Each mixed team consists of five athletes and must include at least two male and two female competitors.
The official slogan, “Reborn Together,” symbolizes the unity of the global taekwondo community in Chuncheon and its shared commitment to opening a new chapter in the development of taekwondo.
Throughout the championships, the ROKCTV joint reporting team will deliver competition results and major developments from the venue with fairness, objectivity and accuracy.
