Since its launch in 2009, ROKCTV has built a strong foundation as a comprehensive news organization by covering major domestic and international developments across society, politics, the economy, international affairs, culture, daily life, sports, and health.
ROKCTV is using its 17th anniversary as a new turning point, undertaking an extensive organizational restructuring and executive appointment process to advance as a global comprehensive news organization and respond proactively to the rapidly changing media environment.
The restructuring strengthens professionalism and accountable management through six core organizational units: the Strategic Planning Office, Content Strategy Headquarters, News Headquarters, Broadcasting Headquarters, Management Headquarters, and Advertising Business Headquarters.
ROKCTV will also safeguard editorial independence and uphold the strict separation of news and advertising while gradually expanding digital video production, multilingual content, and its international reporting network.
As part of its first major personnel appointments in seven years, ROKCTV appointed :
○ Chae Su-Hyang as Honorary Chair and Publisher;
○ Kim Jeong-Rok, also known by his art name Cheongyeong, as Chairman;
○ Kim Jeong-Pyeong as Vice Chairman for Strategic Planning and Head of Strategic Planning;
○ Chae Jeong-Hui as Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief;
○ Kim Gyeong Up as Head of General News Operations and Director of Reporting; and
○ Kim Jun-Ri as Deputy Manager of the Advertising Business Headquarters and Reporter.
To strengthen its international reporting capabilities across politics, society, the economy, industry, international affairs, culture, sports, and martial arts, ROKCTV also appointed reporter Kim Joey and the following overseas correspondents :
○ Stephenson Briony Mia Isabella, United Kingdom;
○ Mekonen Zelalem Gete, Ethiopia;
○ Velda Vania, Indonesia; and
○ Chanumolu Madhuri, India.
ROKCTV will continue to identify and appoint capable and responsible professionals from Korea and abroad, placing practical competence, personal qualities, and a strong sense of responsibility above formal credentials alone.
The organization will also diversify its operations into information and communications technology and educational services. By connecting journalism, media production, publishing, and education, ROKCTV aims to establish a new foundation for growth and embark on a “second phase of globalization.”

Distinguished readers, viewers, listeners, and subscribers in Korea and around the world,
And all our valued supporters who have stood with ROKCTV over the past 17 years,
Today, we commemorate the meaningful 17th founding anniversary of ROKCTV.
First and foremost, I extend my deepest gratitude to our readers and audiences at home and abroad for their unwavering trust, affection, and support.
I also offer my sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported us in both material and heartfelt ways, including our sponsors, reporters who have worked tirelessly in the field, executives, staff members, advisers, and all others who have contributed to ROKCTV’s development.
Since its establishment in 2009, ROKCTV has reported on major issues affecting Korea and the world across society, politics, the economy, international affairs, culture, daily life, sports, and health.
Our 17th anniversary is not merely an occasion to commemorate the passage of time. It is a moment to reflect honestly on the journey we have taken, reaffirm the essential purpose and responsibilities of journalism, and declare a new beginning as we advance toward a wider world.
A 17-Year Journey Toward Trusted Journalism
The news media is a public institution entrusted with objectively reporting the events and developments taking place in society. Through fact-based analysis and commentary, journalism must also help readers make sound and informed judgments.
Today, however, we live in an era in which unverified information and false news spread rapidly, blurring the line between truth and falsehood.
We must also confront the serious reality that political power and financial interests can undermine the objectivity, fairness, neutrality, and watchdog role of the press.
In times such as these, the media must remain even more faithful to its fundamental duty: verifying facts and recording the truth.
Guided by the spirit of principled and forthright journalism, ROKCTV will never turn away from the truth in the face of political power or financial influence.
We will not rush to publish unverified claims. We will be a responsible news organization that carefully checks every letter in a person’s name and every figure in a report.
When an error is identified, we will not conceal it. We will correct it promptly and transparently.
We will listen humbly to the criticism and opinions of our readers, faithfully carry out the public responsibilities of a news organization, meet the expectations placed upon us, and contribute to the advancement of humanity.
Organizational Innovation for a Global Comprehensive News Organization
To mark its 17th founding anniversary, ROKCTV has undertaken an extensive organizational restructuring and series of personnel appointments as part of its commitment to becoming a global comprehensive news organization.
The purpose of this reform is not simply to rename departments or reassign personnel.
It is a structural transformation designed to strengthen the professionalism of our reporting, safeguard editorial independence, and respond responsibly to the rapidly changing digital media environment.
ROKCTV will strengthen professionalism and accountable management through six core organizational units :

○ Content Strategy Headquarters;
○ News Headquarters;
○ Broadcasting Headquarters;
○ Management Headquarters; and
○ Advertising Business Headquarters.
The Strategic Planning Office will oversee ROKCTV’s medium- and long-term development plans and global expansion strategy.
The Content Strategy Headquarters will plan and distribute news articles, photographs, videos, YouTube programming, Shorts, Reels, and social media content in ways suited to the characteristics of each platform.
The News Headquarters will investigate and thoroughly verify major domestic and international developments in politics, society, the economy, industry, international affairs, culture, sports, and martial arts, delivering accurate information to our readers and audiences.
The Broadcasting Headquarters will expand video news, current-affairs and cultural programming, interviews, live field coverage, YouTube productions, and mobile content, bringing ROKCTV closer to readers and viewers worldwide.
The Management Headquarters will establish fair and transparent personnel and financial systems while building a stable digital news infrastructure.
The Advertising Business Headquarters will help create a sustainable foundation for ROKCTV’s operations. At the same time, we will strictly uphold the principle of separating news from advertising so that commercial interests can never exert improper influence over reporting or editorial decisions.

Protecting Editorial Independence and the Rights of Our Readers
More important than the growth of any organization is the trust of its readers.
ROKCTV will defend its editorial independence against all forms of external pressure, whether from political power, financial interests, advertisers, or any other source.
Advertorials and sponsored content will be clearly identified so that readers cannot mistake them for independent news reports. We will also strengthen our review procedures to prevent false, exaggerated, misleading, or unlawful advertising.
We will reinforce the functions of our Editorial Committee, Audience and Readers’ Rights Committee, grievance-handling system, fact-checking procedures, and journalism ethics framework so that the voices of our readers and audiences are heard and respected.
All news-related judgments will be made independently by the News Headquarters. The respective roles and authority of our editorial, management, and advertising operations will remain clearly separated to prevent improper interference in reporting and news production.
Communicating with the World Through Digital, Video, and Multilingual Content
ROKCTV will move beyond a traditional article-centered reporting model and establish an integrated media system connecting written journalism, photography, video, YouTube, live broadcasting, social media, and multilingual news.
We will gradually expand our multilingual content in English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, and Arabic. Through these efforts, we will accurately introduce Korea’s politics, economy, society, culture, K-culture, history, and heritage to audiences around the world.
At the same time, we will provide our readers in Korea with balanced coverage of major international developments and cultural trends from across the globe.
We will expand our network of overseas correspondents and international reporting partnerships while actively pursuing exchanges and cooperation with global news organizations and international institutions.
ROKCTV has developed extensive expertise in covering Taekwondo, martial arts, and sports. We will continue to deepen these areas as specialized fields of journalism.
At the same time, we will significantly strengthen our reporting capabilities across politics, the economy, society, international affairs, and culture, affirming our identity as a global comprehensive news organization that is not limited to any single field.

ROKCTV will diversify its operations into information and communications technology and educational services while pursuing a new vision that connects journalism, media production, publishing, and education.
